Wrigley has PLN 170m (EUR 50.6m) for a chewing gum plant
Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Wrigley’s plant in Poznan is already the biggest facility in Europe but it may become even bigger. If 300 new jobs are created.
The leader on the Polish chewing gum market which is worth PLN 797m, wants to increase its capacity in Europe.
“The company considers developing its Poznan plant and buying new production lines. This is a PLN 170m project which would create 300 new jobs”, “PB” anonymous source said.
“An investment in Russia is also being considered. Decision should be made within several weeks”, another source added.
Wrigley did not confirm the news. According to unofficial sources, the producer of Orbit gums would like to invest in Kostrzyn-Slubice special economic zone.
“No comment”, Krzysztof Dolganow, the zone CEO says.
“If this project comes true, it will be a great success of Poznan”, Jakub Scibisz from Poznan municipal authorities said.
Wrigley has over 700 employees in Poland, both in the factory and its sales business.
