In February, “PB” said that a group of businessmen headed by engineer Stanislaw Szadkowski was about to produce electric cars.

“We are finalizing talks with subcontractors in order to launch production of first 500 cars in September. They were ordered by the owner of Sam brand, a Swiss company”, one of the representatives of Impact Automotive Technologies (IAT) which organizes the production, said.

Next year, capacity would reach 5,000 cars annually. In a year, the company would come out of the red.

Mercedes has been producing small city car Smart for 10 years already. In 2010, the first smart with electric engine will be produced.

Swiss Cree Ltd, today, SAM Cree is the author of the three-wheeled electric car. The design was created eight years ago. Only 100 cars have been sold so far because of high price and defects. Now, thanks to improvements, Sams have a chance for a success. One car will cost over PLN 20,000 (EUR 6,220). It can drive 80 km per hour.
