A wind of hope on the WSE

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Warsaw Stock Exchange indices started the day well. The WIG20 index opened 0.8 percent up. The Ifo index, the MPC decision plus data on homes sales in the USA dragged the market down. Warren Buffet’s opinion that he would buy more had he more funds, were not enough. The WIG20 index ended only 0.3 percent up. Shares worth PLN 1.1bn changed hands.

The best blue chips included companies which had their recommendations raised to ‘buy’. TVN TV broadcaster rose despite the fact that UniCredit lowered its price to PLN 20. PKN Orlen and Grupa Lotos fuel giants rose 2.1 and 4.1 percent respectively. Polnord construction company which is put up for sale fell 3.9 percent after it had jumped over 10 percent on Tuesday. The Arabic fund mentioned as one of potential investors denied the news.
