All indices end up on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, banks pace the advances

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The last session in January was full of records of stock indices. All of them rose to their new highs.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The last session in January was full of records of stock indices. All of them rose to their new highs.

MIDWIG gained 1.8 percent to its third consecutive record. WIRR hit its record for the fourth straight day. WIG20 added 1.72 percent to 3,483.04 points. Shares of blue chips worth over PLN 1 billion changed hands, 60 percent more than yesterday.

Banks paced the advances. Among five best performers on Wednesday, there were four banks. BZ WBK jumped 6.8 percent to its new record of PLN 267.5. BRE Bank ended 5.3 percent up after the company published good quarterly results. Bank BPH rose to PLN 1,040, or 4.2 percent. PKO BP gained 3.7 percent to its new record of PLN 49.5 after the decision to choose the CEO was delayed. Grupa Kety aluminium producer added 3.9 percent. TP telecom did not join the upward trend. The stock lost 1 percent. The company published its results yesterday, they were below the forecasts. Bioton insulin producer dropped 1.5 percent.
