In 2004, the company had sales of PLN 2 billion, or 20 percent more then a year before. ‘This year, we are planning to increase sales by further 20-25 percent’, Morten Jensen added.

It should be possible thanks to sales in Asian countries where Polish meat is getting more and more popular. ‘In 2004, our beef exports to South Korea rose to 6,000 tonnes, and was four times as big as two years ago’, Animex CEO said. In Japan, the Polish company sells about 250 tonnes of poultry a month, and the number should double in the near future. Beef will also be sold to Japan, when Polish plants get special exports licences and the approval of Japanese veterinary inspectors.

In Poland, Animex wants to increase its market share of brand meat products from 2.5 percent to 5 percent. It will also invest USD 50 m to modernise its plants within the upcoming months.
