Barlinek floor producer to invest PLN 200 m

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Barlinek, Poland’s floorboard producer, has already invested over PLN 200 m (EUR 47.2 m). ‘We plan further investments of PLN 200 m within two years’, Michal Solowow, a businessman who owns the company said. He refused to reveal details. Funds will be raised in the stock market.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Barlinek, Poland’s floorboard producer, has already invested over PLN 200 m (EUR 47.2 m). ‘We plan further investments of PLN 200 m within two years’, Michal Solowow, a businessman who owns the company said. He refused to reveal details. Funds will be raised in the stock market. ‘In Autumn, we will issue shares worth PLN 60-100 m, or 20 percent of company’s capital’, Michal Solowow said.

Barlinek is building a new plant in Poland worth PLN 100 m. In June 2004, another plant was launched worth PLN 120 m. Barlinek planned also expansion in Ukraine, but two weeks ago the country withdrew all investment privileges and the majority of Polish plants located there are not profitable today. Polish investors have invested in Ukraine USD 190 m (EUR 147.1 m). ‘I do not know if and how the situation improves’, Jacek Piechota, Poland’s minister of economy said.
