BASF Polska plans to increase sales by 50 percent

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – BASF Polska, world’s leading chemical producer, wants to increase its sales in Poland by 50 percent within five years. Last year, its sales amounted to PLN 1.19 billion (EUR 295.1m). This result will not be achieved by acquisitions but by organic growth, especially in automotive, construction and farming markets.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – BASF Polska, world’s leading chemical producer, wants to increase its sales in Poland by 50 percent within five years. Last year, its sales amounted to PLN 1.19 billion (EUR 295.1m). This result will not be achieved by acquisitions but by organic growth, especially in automotive, construction and farming markets. “Imports will help us increase sales, mainly from our German plants. Moreover, the Kutno plant which produces feeding stuff elements will increase capacity”, Torsten Penkuhn, BASF Polska CEO said. The plant will increase production by 25-30 percent. “We want to increase its exports to Eastern and Southern Europe, which amount to 10-15 percent today”, Torsten Penkuhn added.

He refused to say whether BASF received invitation from Nafta Polska to take part in the privatisation of chemical producers. “We are ready to support technologically and financially our clients and distributors who want to implement innovative solutions and are active in the market”, BASF Polska CEO said. In the company’s strategy till 2010, there is a provision concerning building plants in Poland to support BASF strategy.
