Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Bomilla, the sweet producer from Wloclawek, central Poland, plans to double sales and market share. How? By the acquisition of assets of Scandinavian rival Cloetta Fazer,  which has closed its production in Gdansk, northern Poland.

We have bought the major part of their assets. We will be able to increase our offer by chocolate products, Kaziemierz Bronikowski, Bomilla CEO said.

His company is going to employ 80 out of 320 workers of Cloetta Fazer Polska. The value of the transaction, which is going to be financed from the company’s own sources and a banking credit, remains secret.

Apart from assets and machines, Bomilla has bought local brands from Fazer, including Finezja or Admiral.

Today, our market share amounts to 3 percent. Thanks to the acquisition, they should double within two years. So should exports, Kazimierz Bronikowski added.

Within two years, the company’s sales should grow to PLN 100m (EUR 26.1m) from PLN 50m this year.

Cloetta Fazer is not withdrawing from Poland. The company will sell its brands via its own structure (40 clerks) and is going to order part of production to Bomilla.

We can see opportunities to strengthen our position in Poland, Karsten Slotte, Cloetta Fazer managing director said.
