Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Carrefour Polska, the French operator of Carrefour hypermarkets and Champion and Globi supermarkets, is going to invest PLN 350m (EUR 88.5m) next year.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Carrefour Polska, the French operator of Carrefour hypermarkets and Champion and Globi supermarkets, is going to invest PLN 350m (EUR 88.5m) next year.

“Unemployment is falling, economy is growing, there are still towns with no modern shopping malls”, Alain Souillard, Carrefour Polska CEO said. The company is going to launch 12 Champion markets and at least two shopping malls. “I cannot precisely enumerate all 12 sites. We are holding talks and applying for permissions in a bigger number of places. Where the project is realised depends on when and where we will be able to build”, Alain Souillard explained.The shopping malls will be built in smaller towns than before. “We have received permission to build one in Zamosc, eastern Poland. We will spent PLN 40m for the mall. With our partner Cefic Polska we will realise a project in Gliwice, southern Poland worth over PLN 100m. We also want to invest in Bydgoszcz, central-western Poland but we are waiting for permission”, Alain Souillard enumerated.(PLN 1 = EUR 0.253)
