Chevrolet gets closer to the leaders of the car sales rankings

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Cars from GM group are eleventh in the ranking of most popular cars in Poland. The whole market grew 21 percent.

 

In January, the Poles bought 755 Chevrolets, or 76.4 percent more than a year ago. The company from General Motor group jumped into eleventh place in the ranking of most often sold cars in Poland. It may soon be one of the ten most popular brands. Poland is no exception. In 2006, the company sold over 340,000 cars in Europe and had 1.6 percent of the market.

 

In January, Skoda fell from the first place into the second one in the ranking. The Czech producer sold 2,810 cars. Toyota won with 3,170 cars. Both companies will lure the Poles with new models: Skoda Fabia and Toyota Corolla.

 

The whole market did much better in January 2007 than a year earlier. According to Samar, the institute monitoring the car market, the Poles bought 22,700 new cars in January, or 21.66 percent more than in the same period of 2006.
