This year breweries are expecting to sell around 2.5bn litres of beer. Last year they sold just over 2.4bn litres so therefore little expansion is considered likely. Indeed 2001 showed the lowest growth, at only 0.3 percent, since the early 1990s. There are only two major factors effecting beer sales, the price and weather. The latter depends very much of fiscal policy, the latter is the subject of higher authority.
