Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – On February 1st, the court will view the case of Walcownia Rur Jednosc (WRJ) which is supposed to go bankrupt.

The case of WRJ, the pipe producer whose plant has been constructed for nearly 30 years now, will be viewed by the court in Katowice on February 1st. In fall, the court did not view two files for the bankruptcy of the company. The management of WRJ and Enpol, the company building the plant, appealed. The court will view the case again. If WRJ goes bankrupt, an investor could finish the construction of the plant. So far, PLN 630m (EUR 163.2m) was invested, there are PLN 200m more needed. According to initial plans, the investment was supposed to amount to PLN 220m.

Russian TMK represented by Sinara Trading was supposed to buy the steel plant from the bankruptcy officer for EUR 37.5m. An initial agreement was signed in October 2005 with TFS, the owner of a 40.7 percent stake of WRJ shares. The following companies are also interested in acquiring WRJ: TFS and Alchemia controlled by Roman Karkosik.
