Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Polish Delphi confirms that the shock absorber plant is for sale. Negotiations will start at the end of this and the beginning of next year.

Delphi, the U.S. car parts producer is implementing its restructuring program. All non-core plants are to be closed or sold. The unit producing shock absorbers and suspenders is one of them. In Poland, the Krosno plant produces shock absorbers.

“Delphi has four shock absorber plants, including Krosno. For some time the joint sale of all the plants has been mentioned. Today, documents are being collected to prepare a memorandum for potential investors. The whole sale process will start at the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007”, Krzysztof Zuzak, the head of the Krosno plant said.

Japanese Kayaba, U.S. Monroe or German Fichtel & Sachs could be potential buyers.

The Krosno plant increased capacity from 4m shock absorbers to 7m this year. The company is going to develop further.

“Next year, we will be producing 10m shock absorbers”, Krzysztof Zuzak stressed.

This year, USD 10m have been spent for development of the plant, the plans for the next year are similar.

Krosno sold the production line for gas springs and sticks in May and now it is negotiating to sell two other units. Potential buyers are FA Krosno and Asian Amtek.
