Diagnostyka builds laboratory for PLN 8m

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Diagnostyka, the private company offering laboratory services, builds a new unit in Krakow, southern Poland. The laboratory will be launch in 2006. “This is a PLN 8m (EUR 2m) worth investment”, Jakub Swadzba, Diagnostyka CEO said. The project will be financed with a credit, for the first time in the company’s history.

The laboratory will be launch in 2006. “This is a PLN 8m (EUR 2m) worth investment”, Jakub Swadzba, Diagnostyka CEO said. The project will be financed with a credit, for the first time in the company’s history. Diagnostyka has 20 laboratories in 8 cities. Its biggest rival – Alab – has 12 laboratories. “We have below 2 percent in the whole market of hospital and private analyses, we make 7m of them a year. We want to launch new outlets in new tows, we may start co-operation with local laboratories”, Diagnostyka CEO said.

The diagnostic analyses market in Poland is worth EUR 400m. The majority of those services is conducted by state-owned companies, and private companies have just several percent market share. “Launching one outlet costs up to PLN 1m”, Jakub Swadzba said. Diagnostyka has profitability of 10 percent. The management expects sales to exceed PLN 50m this year.
