Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Emfesz, the Hungarian gas distributor, wants to enter the Polish market. The company is ready to build a gas storage.
Emfesz, the Hungarian gas distributor, still tries to enter the market, which belongs to PGNiG. The Hunagrian company wants to get 20-30 percent market share. Emfesz is not trusted by Polish politicians because it buys gas from RosUkrEnergo, a company connected with Gazprom. According to Borisz Sesztakow, Emfesz spokesman, the new distributor on the market will make PGNiG lower its prices, too. However, to launch operations in Poland , Emfesz must build reserves of 3 percent of the planned imports. PGNiG is the only owner of such storages in Poland . They are 1.6 billion square meters big. Emfesz is looking for a new place.
„We are finalizing talks with the owner of a coal mine, which may be transformed into gas storage.
