Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) –  After the stock exchange reductions it will be possible to take over the companies cheaper. Also those not listed.

A downward tendency on the stock exchange does not worry everybody. For the private equity funds (PE)  and larger companies it may be a great opportunity to buy. Enterprise Investors, the biggest PE in Poland, as well as other companies are already for ‘bargains’. The experts say: you can buy now.

Many companies that were planning a debut have decided to wait for ‘better times’. Jacek Siwicki, the President of Enterprise Investors, wants to take advantage of this situation and present these companies with his offer.

The interest in takeovers has already grown considerably. Rafal Skowronski from the BZ WBK bank thinks that the transactions which have been suspended are now more likely to be finalized. In Siwicki’s opinion the prices, although decreased, could still be lower. However, the indices are more realistic.

In the opinion of Maciej Gorski, the vice President of Capital Partners, in the years 2006-2007 the funds had little chance to invest in medium and large companies. The shareholders tended to choose the WSE. In 2008 the chances for‘public to private’ transactions will probably increase.
