Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) Although the economic freedom law has been valid for over a year and a half now, the situation of entrepreneurs has not changed at all, according to PKPP Lewiatan, the confederation of Polish employers, which monitors it.

Entrepreneurs had great hopes connected with this law. However, we are still far from enjoying real economic freedom. The biggest problem is that we haven¹t managed to reduce the number of controls and their length at companies, Katarzyna Urbanska, expert of PKPP Lewiatan commented.

She added that companies have no way to oppose overlapping controls. There are no fines for clerks violating the law, while businessmen have no chances to receive compensation for losses. The number of controlling entities has not been reduced as promised and there are 40 of them today.

The areas of licensing have been reduced but there are still many different permissions, licenses, etc., Katarzyna Urbanska added.
