Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Farmacol, Poland’s listed pharmacy distributor, located in Katowice, southern Poland, wants to enlarge its group this year. ‘The competition gets harder, wholesaler’s effectiveness falls. Among 10 largest rival companies, including those listed on the bourse, five are for sale. I hope we manage to finalise negotiations this year’, Andrzej Olszewski, the CEO and the main shareholder of Farmacol said.

The company has over PLN 100 m (EUR 25.1 m) to enlarge the group. ‘Our financial situation is good enough to acquire more than one company. We have PLN 50 m of our own funds and very big credit capacities, as we have paid all investment credits before deadline’, the CEO said. Farmacol controls 17 percent of the market. ‘We will take part in the privatisation of Cefarm Bialystok, but we are not interested in Centrala Farmaceutyczna Cefarm in Warsaw. Thanks to the acquisitions we want to fill places where Farmacol has nearly not operated, i.e. north-eastern regions’, Andrzej Olszewski explained.
