Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – According to the Polish investment agency PAIIZ, in 2004, USD 7.86 billion (EUR 6 billion) of foreign direct investment came to Poland. ‘This it the highest investment level in four years’, Andrzej Zdebski, PAIIZ CEO commented. In comparison to 2003, the inflow grew by 23 percent. PAIIZ estimates that since the beginning of 90ies, USD 84.

In comparison to 2003, the inflow grew by 23 percent. PAIIZ estimates that since the beginning of 90ies, USD 84.48 billion of foreign investments of over USD 1 m came to Poland. The smaller once are estimated to be worth USD 3.83 billion.

Foreign investors created 14,800 new jobs. ‘Employment grew by 48 percent in comparison to last year. This is due to more and more investments in services, which cost less than launching production’, Sebastian Mikosz, PAIIZ deputy CEO explained. In 2004, 41 percent of the investments were realised in production sector, of which the majority in automotive sector. ‘Financial services where extremely attractive to investors. In 2004, USD 2.1 billion was spent in this sector’, Sebastian Mikosz added.
