Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Comdirect Bank has decided to offer more services for individual clients. Its Polish peer BRE Bank owned by German Commerzbank has done it before.

Comdirect Bank, a German financial institution and a member of Commerzbank group, has added individual accounts to its offer of investment services via electronic channels.

“We plan to increase the number of current accounts to 289,000 till the end of next year, which means over 100,000 more than in the first quarter of this year”, Andre Carls, Comdirect managing director said.

In 2004, Comdirect did not forecast that electronic accounts would be a promising market. It focused on brokerage services and selling investment funds. The company’s head admits that he followed the suit of Polish BRE Bank – mBank and MultiBank.

“On-line services have great future. We expect that the number of Germans using on-line banking will grow from 13.3m in 2005 to 16.7m at the end of 2007”, Andre Carls said.
