Government enlarges special economic zones

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Last Tuesday, the government enlarged three special economic zones. The changes will allow for investments worth PLN 760m (EUR 190.9m). 3,300 new jobs will be created.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Last Tuesday, the government enlarged three special economic zones. The changes will allow for investments worth PLN 760m (EUR 190.9m). 3,300 new jobs will be created. “Thanks to creating sub-zone in Zielona Gora, western Poland, Topdrew, the Polish wood producer will build a PLN 160m plant where 600 people will work”, Artur Rosiak from economic zone commented. German Europol-Meble, which has 10 percent of the upholstery furniture market in Germany, wants to create 500 new jobs till 2007 and 1,000 jobs eventually. In the first stage, the company will invest PLN 30m, in the second stage – PLN 70m”, Artur Rosiak added.

In Goleniow, also western Poland, German Renold wants to build a plant for EUR 5m where automotive parts will be produced by 200 people. Technologie Tworzyw Sztucznych, the Polish yacht producer will invest EUR 4m and employ 200 people. Near Walbrzych, the home appliances producer Wrozamet, chemical PCC Rokita and Mahle Polska, the engine parts producer are to invest jointly PLN 500m and create 1,300 jobs.
