“This is the result of poor economy. The demand is too low for entrepreneurs to raise prices. They accept their margins being lowered”, Stanislaw Kluza, BGZ chief economist explained. “When consumption grows, companies will raise their prices”, Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska, Bank Handlowy chief economist added.

Economists already see signs of bigger consumption. “I expect it will occur in several months. If oil prices keep growing, at least transport services must rise”, Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska said. Entrepreneurs admit that high oil prices are a problem. “We raise prices and our final client pays the costs”, Maciej Duda, General Director of Polski Koncern Miesny Duda admitted.
