Indices end the week at very high levels

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – On Friday, WIG20 ended at 2,118.49, or 2.05 higher, while WIG rose to its new all times record of 28,547.10 points. Shares worth PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 381 m) changed hands, which is another record.

TPSA telecom and PKN Orlen fuel giant dragged the market up. The latter added over 4 percent and reached its new height. Shares worth PLN 200 m of both companies changed hands. PKO BP, which also was eagerly traded, rose only 1.1 percent. Pekao bank, whose shares worth PLN 100 m changed hands, gained 3.5 percent. Debica, Stalexport, Orbis and Prokom did not interest investors.

Elektrim was Friday’s best performer with a 27.1 percent rise. It was due to the decision of Warsaw court to change the list of PTC shareholders and replace Elektrim Telekomunikacja, a company now controlled by Vivendi, with Elektrim as the owner of a 48 percent stake.
