Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Intrall, which today produces Lublin vans and Honker all-terrain cars, is going to invest in new models.

Intrall, the Russian-British producer of vans from Lublin, wants to substitute the models it overtook from bankrupt Daewoo Motor Poland (DMP): Lublin Vanks and Honker all-terrain cars.

“In the years 2006-2007, we will spend up to PLN 60m in equipment to produce the new models. We will spend our own funds, get money from the company’s owners and take investment credits”, Piotr Mazur, Intrall Polska deputy CEO said.

The company hopes that the new van will let it enter EU markets. Today, it sells 90 percent of production in Poland. In the future, it plans to export over 50 percent of its capacity. However, Lublin vans will still be produced.

“We are assembling these cars in Byelarussia. We lead talks to launch assembling in India. We also hope for China and Guatemala”, Piotr Mazur said.

“The company faces big expenditures this year due to implementing ABS in Lublin vans and Euro IV norms in its engines. It may influence the price of these vans, which today is their advantage”, Krzysztof Muzdzak, the van sales director in Mercedes-Benz commented.

He added that it is difficult to win EU markets alone.

“If Intrall manages to do it by itself, it will be a very big success”, he said.

Another project planned by Intrall is the all-terrain car. The company has two variants. The new model will be presented in fall.
