Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – On Tuesday, shares worth PLN 1.2 billion (EUR 310.8m) changed hands, including PLN 940m worth of blue chips. The WIG20 index ended 2 percent up at 2,749.46, its new record. Also WIG, MIDWIG and WIRR hit new records.

Shareholders of fuel companies were the winners on Tuesday. The Ukrainian gas crisis is causing their rises along with oil prices, and margins of refineries, which mean higher income for the companies. PKN Orlen fuel giant jumped 4.1 percent, while Grupa Lotos 3.1 percent. TP telecom gained nearly 3 percent. Only two blue chips fell – BZ WBK bank and Bioton insulin producer.

Tras Intur (formerly Tras Tychy) jumped 28 percent after the company had signed an agreement with German company to sell its windows till the end of 2007. The value of the agreement amounts to EUR 2m in 2006 and the same in 2007.
