Investors withhold from trading on the WSE

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Shares of blue chips worth only PLN 616m changed hands. The WIG20 index lost 0.08 percent. A week earlier when the index was growing to its new highs, the volume of trade amounted to PLN 910-950m.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Shares of blue chips worth only PLN 616m changed hands. The WIG20 index lost 0.08 percent. A week earlier when the index was growing to its new highs, the volume of trade amounted to PLN 910-950m.

WIRR, the index of the smallest companies, rose 0.9 percent to its new all-time record of 13,707.89 points. MIDWIG fell 0.62 percent dragged down by IT companies, including Softbank, Computerland and Comarch which lost 2.2-2.9 percent. Media companies were doing much better. Agora, the publisher of “Gazeta Wyborcza” daily added 4.7 percent to PLN 35.9. TVN media group rose 1.5 percent to PLN 123. Netia telecom gained 2 percent but the volume of trade was very smal land amounted to PLN 3.9m.

The Warsaw giants, including KGHM, PKN Orlen, TP or PKO BP changed by about 1 percent. Pekao bank was the only exception and fell 2 percent, dragging the WIG20 index down.
