Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Italian high-way operator will increase the equity of listed Stalexport, pay back its debts and sell steel business.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Italian high-way operator will increase the equity of listed Stalexport, pay back its debts and sell steel business.

Italian Autostrade, the operator of 3,400 km high-ways in Italy and 2,000 km in Austria, is the new investor of Stalexport, Polish listed company trading with steel products and managing A4 Krakow-Katowice high-way. The investor is going to raise the equity by PLN 68.31m and have 21.7 percent stake in Stalexport. It is also going to implement another issue to raise its stake to over 50 percent.

“A tender offer will be announce, the investor will have about 66 percent stake”, Emil Wasacz, Stalexport CEO said.

The new investor is going to sell steel assets. A big part of Stalexport debts will be paid thanks to the first issue. The company will also invest in new projects. Stock investors welcomed the Italian partner. Yesterday Stalexport stock was one of the best performers and was adding up to 17 percent to end the day 14.8 percent up.
