Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The holding from Kielce will found two nation-wide food retailers. The press distributor will fight with giants, including Emperia, Eurocash and Zabka. It plans to have 200 shops initially.

“For over a year now, Kolporter has been preparing to intensively develop two nation-wide food retailers with a stabile wholesale background. In Spring, we will have closed our pilot program for ‘Dobry Wybor’ (Good Choice) retailer conducted in 30 shops in Silesia. We will thus have a tried and well prepared trade model which we will implement in the rest of Poland. At the same time, we are working to found smaller food retailer ‘Meta’ which is also being checked in a dozen of shops”, Mariusz Kosinski from Kolporter Sieci Handlowe said.

The first company will operate in the franchise system, similarly to Groszek developed by Emperia or ABC of Eurocash. The second company will be similar to the model applied by Zabka: Kolporter will lease the shops to its partners.

In order to support deliveries, Kolporter will found a wholesale group. The holding plans to sign contracts with individual wholesalers in different regions of the country. Kolporter plans to launch its project at the end of the first half of 2009. At the end of next year, there are supposed to be 200 ‘Dobry Wybor’ shops.
