NFI Kwiatkowski attracted PLN 31.6m of trade and jumped 130 percent on the news that Roman Karkosik businessman acquired a stake of the fund.

2 NFI and 4 NFI Progress rose 21 and 16.3 percent respectively also thanks to Roman Karkosik’s name. They are controlled by Equity Service Poland which sold Supernova Equity to the businessman. The stock of NFI Kwiatkowski was suspended from trading because the demand exceeded the offer by several times.

The WIG20 index ended 0.24 percent up, opposite to growing Western European markets and the U.S. stock exchanges which opened up. Shares of blue chips worth only PLN 480m changed hands while the whole volume of trade amounted to PLN 845m. This is a clear sign that individual investors are engaged in trading while big players, including foreign investors, refrain from trading. MIDWIG and WIRR indices gained 0.9 percent each and hit their new records.

KGHM copper producer gained 3.1 percent while shares worth PLN 120m changed hands. Four banks from the WIG20 index (excluding BRE Bank) ended down, so did the two telecoms (TP and Netia) and PKN Orlen. On Wednesday it will be clear whether there are new parliamentary elections or whether PSL peasants’ party builds coalition with PiS, Law and Justice, the ruling party. If the first scenario becomes true, there may be decreases noted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and the zloty may depreciate.
