Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Naramowice dairy producer from Poznan will be sold by the state. Several companies are interested in the acquisition.
Mleczarnia Naramowice (MN) from Poznan specializing in cottage cheese is going to be privatized this year, according to the plans of the Ministry of the Treasure. Arcanum from Wroclaw won the tender to become the privatization advisor. This is the only state-owned dairy producer left in Poland.
“The Ministry says that the privatization proceedings might end within 6-9 months”, Andrzej Potrykus, MN CEO said.
The company has a strong position in the region. Moreover, it owns over 5ha of land in Poznan. It specializes in high quality cottage cheese and has good technology.
“Both Polish and foreign companies, including French ones, are interested in our plant”, Andrzej Potrykus said.
Polmlek is interested.
“This is an interesting company to us because we are weak in cottage cheese production so the acquisition would develop our offer”, Andrzej Grabowski, the chairman of Polmlek said.
Lactalis Polska is also interested.
“We will check the offer”, Piotr Walczak, Lactalis Polska CEO said.
The price of MN which produces 7m milk annually, has not been announced yet. The land it owns is worth over 10 million zloty (EUR 2.6m). However, the net income of the dairy producer with PLN 14m of sales, amounts to zero zloty.
