Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Norwegian Aker and Italian LLoyd Sycylia want to buy Stocznia Gdanska (SG).

The European Commission asked the Polish antimonopoly authorities UOKiK who the potential investors of SG are. Two companies submitted preliminary offers but up to seven entities are said to be interested. Norwegian Aker and Italian LLoyd Sycylia want to buy the shipyard. The Italian company ordered ships in Porta Hodling and failed to buy two of them finally.

SG wants none of these investors. It would rather be acquired by state-owned companies.

“We want the shipyard to be restructured by a Polish investor for 2-3 years. There are three entities which we would welcome: Energa, The Agency of Industrial Development (ARP) and the Corporation of Polish Shipyards (KPS)”, Andrzej Jaworski, the temporary SG CEO said.
