Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - The special economic zone in Walbrzych will enhance a car engines parts plant of Mahle Polska in Krotoszyn.

Today, 2,300 people work here. The number will increase by 500. Because we are part of the special economic zone, we are obliged to keep the whole employment. We plan PLN 160m (EUR 39.7m) of investments in new production lines and second-market plant, Agata Bochenska, the member of the board in Mahle Polska said.

Machines will be delivered to the company within several days, while construction works will start when the company receives necessary permissions. The representatives of the company admit that it is thanks to tax exemptions offered in special economic zone, which allowed for such a big investment.

Thanks to taxes, we have convinced our shareholder, the German Mahle GmbH company, not to locate part of its activities in its new plant in Romania, Agata Bochenska explained.

It is not the first time that Mahle Polska receives state subsidy. In 2002, the company got funds to build aluminium plant. Mahle, which in

1999 acquired majority stake in Krotoszynska Fabryka Maszyn, has already invested in Poland EUR 100m. The company has clients among Audi, Opel, Scania, Volvo, Skoda, MAN, Renault Truck, PSA Peugeot Citroen and FIAT.
