The German MVV Energie multi utility company has announced that it is to invest PLN200m in this country in the next few years.

The Germans are interested in the privatisation of heat distributors for domestic and industrial use.

Initially MVV will concentrate on heat energy investing in urban systems. The company recently took a 56 percent stake (with 40 percent of the votes) in the Bydgoszcz heat plant. A similar purchase has also been made in Skarżysko-Kamienna near Kielce.

The second stage of the investment process will see the acquisition, modernisation and exploitation of industrial heat suppliers.

MVV has negotiating exclusivity on heat suppliers to the paper works at Krapkowice and Oświęcim — Dwory chemical plant.

The company is also interested in renewable resources of energy and is considering the construction of windmills in this country.
