Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Today, clients of mobile operators, may change them without losing their telephone number. Technical problems discourage the clients, however.

After three months of a pilot program, mobile operators launched today the possibility to change the operator without losing the number. You have to pay PLN 120 (EUR 31.6) in Plus and Era mobile networks for this service. Orange has not yet decided about the price. According to the Polish telecommunication authorities, clients should have no problems with calling or SMS sending. There may be difficulties with MMS. How calls with fixed phones will work remains unknown as GSM operators have not signed agreements with fixe operators as yet.

“This service will not be very popular, I believe. The most important issue is that after the change everything works well. Today, it doesn’t so we advise our clients to wait. Among our clients, about 10 percent are interested in transferring their phone numbers to another mobile operator”, Emil Konarzewski from Audytel consulting company said.
