Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – During the first October session, WIG20 index hit new record – it grew 1.8 percent to 2,564.88 points. WIG, the general index, ended at 34,232.53, 1.6 percent higher than on Friday and also at the highest level ever.

Monday records are mainly due to fuel companies. Grupa Lotos, Poland’s second largest fuel company was rising even 3.8 percent. No wonder, when oil prices cost USD 66 (EUR 55.3) today. PKN Orlen fuel giant rose 3.3 percent. KGHM copper producer gained 2.1 percent while TP telecom – 3.5 percent. But it wasn’t blue chips who lead today’s increases. Remak, a company specialising in renovation and modernisation of energy appliances was trading even 14 percent higher after the firm signed a PLN 16.5m (EUR 4.2m) contract. Steel distributors, including Stalexport, Stalprofil, Drozapol and Stalprodukt also managed to increase several percent.

LZPS shoe producer, which in September had gained nearly 50 percent, dived after the decision concerning its order for the army was delayed with no new date stated.
