Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The demand for nickel products has helped the company.

Permedia chemical plants had over PLN 2m of net income in the third quarter, or 48 percent more than a year ago. Sales grew 28 percent to PLN 13.4m. Tadeusz Boguslaw, the CEO of the listed company, believes that it is thanks to exports which grew from 60 to 70 percent in the last quarter.

“The demand from Eastern Europe, mainly Ukraine and Russia, is growing. The companies buy our nickel products. We have also orders from Korea and India thanks to contacts of our main shareholder – the Czech company Bohemie”, Tadeusz Boguslaw explained.

Nickel prices have jumped 30 percent in the last 12 months.

“Of course we also pay more for nickel but we sell our products at higher prices as well”, the CEO admitted.

In the first three quarters, the company generated over PLN 6.5m of net income while in the whole 2005 it was PLN 6.2m. That’s why the CEO expects net income to be by 25 percent bigger than last year and amount to PLN 8m.
