The fuel giant wants to double its
production of chemical products. IT wants to build new installations and
increase capacity of the existing ones.
PKN Orlen is going to spend PLN 4bn for petrochemical projects within five
years. It will spend less for its exploration business while other units will
rather grow organically.
“We will increase annual capacity from 800,000 tons to 1.6m tons of
petrochemicals. We want to become strategic deliverer for the Polish chemical
sector”, Marek Serafin, PKN Orlen deputy CEO said.
PTA and PX production will grow by 600,000 tons while production of other
goods should be 200,000 tons bigger. Marek Serafin added that the company will
try to work at its full capacity.
PKN Orlen will also soon sell Anwil.
