Plans to increase vodka sales

Pernod Ricard, which has bought 80 percent of Polmos Poznań, is planning on changing the structure of the company adding Wrocław based PR Polska, the Polish subsidiary of Seagram as well as Agros Trading. (The Canadian Seagram was recently purchased by Pernod Ricard.)

Another change will be the attempt at tripling the export sale of Wyborowa vodka. Currently the foreign sales of this vodka and Żubrówka are around USD10 — 12m per year.

Pernod Ricard also claims that the investments stated in the privatisation agreement of PLN50m - PLN150m must be seen as an absolute minimum and could be several times higher.

The Polmos name is almost certain to go although what will come in its place has not yet been decided. Nonetheless the word Poznań is likely to be there and the company states that its headquarters will remain in that city.
