Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – At the breakthrough of September and October, during the visit of President Aleksander Kwasniewski to Ukraine, the declaration of co-operation in energy sector will be signed and a “road map” approved with common oil-gas projects enumerated. “I have recently met the representatives of Ukraine fuel and energy ministry. We have agreed on the document which should be ready till the end of this week”, Piotr Rutkowski, deputy Minister of Economy said.

The following companies will be engaged in the co-operation: PGNiG, PKN Orlen and PERN Przyjazn of Poland and NAK Naftogaz, Ukrtransnaft and Ukrtransgas with subsidiaries of Ukraine. The “road map” provides for independence from Russian energy monopoly. Key elements of the co-operation provide for: oil pipe Brody-Plock-Gdansk and a new Sarmatian gas pipeline. “This month, a consortium of consultants will prepare feasibility study and business plan of prolonging the pipeline to Plock”, Cezary Filipowicz from Sarmatia International Pipe Company responsible for this project said on Friday. Moreover, Poland and Ukraine plan to build a pipeline to transfer oil products and would like to explore oil and gas jointly, both in their countries and abroad. Oil companies would like to launch capital connections, which will be possible after listing PGNiG and privatisation in NAK Naftogaz Ukraine. Today, 23.5 percent of gas deliveries to EU come from Gazprom. The Russian oil constitutes 27 percent of deliveries to the whole EU.
