Poland: Barlinek floor producer increases sales and income

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Barlinek, Poland’s three-layered flooring producer, which plans an IPO in the near future, had PLN 235 m (EUR 57.8 m) of sales last year against PLN 147 m in 2003. The net income rose to PLN 26 m from PLN 15.7. In June 2004, the company launched a new factory, the investment was worth over PLN 120 m.

The net income rose to PLN 26 m from PLN 15.7. In June 2004, the company launched a new factory, the investment was worth over PLN 120 m.

Today, the company’s potential amounts to over 4 m square metres a year, which places Barlinek among world’s five biggest three-layered flooring producers. In Poland, the company has 70 percent of the market, according to its own estimates. Exports constitute 50 percent of Barlinek’s sales. The company is going to build a new plant in a special economic zone. The investment will be worth over PLN 100 m. The new plant will produce 2 m square metres of floorboard a year. Barlinek is owned by Michal Solowow.
