Poland: Lucchini sells LW steel plant to Arcelor

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Italian Lucchini has agreed to sell Huta LW, a steel plant located in Warsaw, to Arcelor, second largest steel concern in the world. None of the companies want to reveal details of their talks. It is important for the Polish plant whether the new investor will develop LW’s operations, including production of railways and parts for automotive industry.

It is possible that Arcelor buys LW only to enter the Polish market and to easier compete with Mittal Steel.
