Poland: Roleski ketchup goes to Europe

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Roleski, Poland’s ketchup, mustard and souses producer, and one of the largest companies producing goods sold under retailers’ brands (40 percent of the company’s sales), is thriving since Poland entered the EU. Since May, exports have grown by 1000 percent. ‘We have a contract to deliver ketchup to Carrefour hipermarkets in the whole Europe’, Marek Roleski, the company’s owner said.

In the last two years, Roleski doubled its capacity, built a logistic centre and implemented several international standards, including a certificate that the products are kosher, which opens the Israeli market for the Polish company. This year, sales are forecast to grow by 20 percent to PLN 145 million. Next year, thanks to new contracts by a dozen or over 20 millions.

The company is considering acquisitions in Western Europe. ‘We are carefully watching local, family companies with a similar profile’, the CEO said. If more capacity is needed, Roleski may subcontract other companies in Poland.
