Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Sejm, the lower chamber of the Polish Parliament, approved of the budget for the year 2005. Income is estimated to amount to PLN 174.692 billion (EUR 41.4 billion) and expenditures to PLN 209.692 billion. The deficit is expected to amount to PLN 35 billion.
MPs increased the budget inflow from excise duty by PLN 120 million and from VAT by PLN 600 million. The government draft envisaged PLN 73.1 billion from VAT and PLN 42.3 billion from excise duty. The money will be spent, among others for police equipment. PLN 100 million will be spent on the Warsaw underground.
