Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Poles like new tastes and the companies offer more and more exotic products.
The food market in Poland exceeds PLN 100bn (EUR 27.6bn). According to PMR company which prepared the first report on new tastes on the market, there are more and more new dishes offered.
“We’ve analyzed the tactics of implementing new products in Poland observing 60 biggest food producers. It turned out that new products most often (47 percent) consisted in implementing new flavors for already existing products”, Marcin Szaleniec, PMR analyst said.
The tastes connected with ethnic cuisine are the most popular.
“The second most popular category of new flavors are those connected with home, old, traditional recipes”, Marcin Szaleniec stressed.
The second most popular way of implementing new products, are those connected with health (20 percent). The third in the ranking are products described as “convenient and time-saving”. Analysts stress that there are more new products on the premium market than on the economic market. Producers confirm the report.
“We are believed to be an innovative company and that’s true. Every year, nearly 30 percent of our sales are generated by new products”, Marek Moczulski, CEO of listed ZPC Mieszko sweet producer said.
