Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The construction
and engineering group does not complain. It has lots of orders and plans to
improve sales an net income by 20-25 percent annually.
Polimex-Mostostal is not affected by the economic slowdown. On the contrary,
the company plans to increase employment.
“Our portfolio amounts to PLN 6.5bn (EUR 1.8bn). 75 percent of the orders
will be realized next year”, Konrad Jaskola, Polimex-Mostostal CEO said.
If one takes into account the contract to build stadium for Legia, the
portfolio grows to PLN 7bn. The contract will be signed next week.
The management believes that its diversification helps the company. The
energy sector develops fast.
“In the upcoming years, 1,000 MW of power will be launched every year. This
is EUR 2bn investment each time”, Konrad Jaskola said.
The company hopes to build installations in Dolna Odra power plant, Siekierki
heat and power plant and Rybnik power plant.
The road building sector is another source of contracts, although, according
to Polimex-Mostostal, tenders are announced very slowly.
“There are too few new contracts. Smaller companies want to work for us and
we have no job for them”, the CEO said.
He is satisfied with the number of orders in the railway sector. In the third
quarter, the group won EUR 200m worth of contracts. The construction sector is
doing quite well, excluding homebuilding.
Polimex-Mostostal will try to keep its growth rate at 20-25 percent. In the
third quarter, its sales rose 16.2 percent to PLN 1.08bn while the net income
jumped 54 percent to PLN 33.3m.
