Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – A company from Pruszkow near Warsaw may launch production of electric mini-cars.

As early as this year, production of SAM cars may be launched. According to “PB” sources, 5,000 cars annually would be produced at first. The costs of the project amount to at least EUR 20m. If sales go well, a plant would be built.

“I cannot comment on that”, Stanislaw Szadkowski, the owner and CEO of Impact Automotive Technologies, a company responsible for SAM production and sales said.

Swiss Cree Ltd, today SAM Cree AG of Zurich, designed the car eight years ago. Only 100 cars have been sold so far.

“The car was too expensive and had mistakes”, a person close to the project revealed.

Cree had problems and stopped production. Now, with financial partners, the Swiss are coming back with the project. They asked engineer Szadkowski for help. Several years ago, he too part in designing Click Car, a failed project of a town car. He modernized SAM model which now will cost EUR 15,000-18,000.
