Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Dunnes Stores, the Irish retailer, wants to sell Polish food in special parts of its shops.

According to Planet Retail, the British company monitoring the market, said that Dunnes Group is going to offer Polish food in its shops in Ireland. There are about 150,000 Poles working and living in Ireland. The numbers for the UK are even higher. The Polish food producers are optimistic.

“There are more and more companies interested in our products. We negotiate with small Polish shops and big retailers”, Dariusz Sapinski, SM Mlekovita CEO said.

Mispol, the producer of ready-to-eat soups, who is going to be listed soon, is going to send samples to Ireland and the UK this month.

Maspex Group, the producer of juices, is also thriving on bigger exports to the UK.

“The demand for Polish products is growing. That’s why the British retailers and wholesalers had to include them in their offer”, Dorota Liszka, Maspex spokeswoman said.

Animex Group, the producer of meat products, is selling to Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda or Morrison.

“The Polish products are getting more and more popular and the distributors are looking for new Polish products to be implemented”, Andrzej Pawelczak from Animex said.
