Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Despite British Diageo, the owner of such brands as Smirnoff and Johnny Walker, did not submit an offer to buy Polmos Bialystok (Zubrowka, Absolwent vodkas), it may become the partner of the Polish company.

'Polmos Lublin and Diageo signed an agreement. The British company may become the partner of the Polish one in the privatisation tender for Polmos Bialystok’, a person close to the transaction revealed. Wieslaw Skrobowski, the CEO of Polmos Lublin, had said several days ago that his company was going to start in the tender with an investor but he did not want to give its name. ‘We are not going to comment for the time being’, Joanna Tauber representing Polmos Lublin said. Representatives of Diageo also declined to comment.

The following companies submitted their offers to buy Polmos Bialystok: Bols, Central European Distribution Corporation, Sobieski Dystrybucja, SPI Group, Pernod Ricard, Altin Krakow, Polmos Siedlce, and Polmos Lublin.Poland/Enterprises/Beverages
