Rockwool invests PLN 250m in Malkinia

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Rockwool is developing its plant in Malkinia. The company will spend PLN 250m (EUR 64.2m) and employ 70 new workers.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Rockwool is developing its plant in Malkinia. The company will spend PLN 250m (EUR 64.2m) and employ 70 new workers.

The Danish producer of isolation with two plants in Poland (Cigacice and Malkinia), plans a new investment.

“We have signed a letter of intent. Rockwool has decided to invest in Malkinia PLN 250m. The company will build a new plant in fact”, Grzegorz Mackiewicz, the CEO of Suwalki Special Economic Zone said.

The present plant of Rockwool will be incorporated into the zone.


Today, in their two plants, the Danes employ 800 people. 300-350 people are employed by their deliverers.

“Because of the project, Rockwool pledges to create 70 new jobs till the middle of 2008”, Grzegorz Mackiewicz added.

This is the first stage of the project. If everything goes well, a second one may be implemented.


Rockwool considered also other countries for this project, including the Czech Republic and Russia.

“This project is the result of a boom on the housing market in Poland. Investment in this sector are long-lasting ones. In addition, such projects in Mazowsze region are very rare, because the majority of investors choose Warsaw”, Sebastian Mikosz, the former deputy CEO of Polish investment agency PAIIZ commented.
