SABMiller invests PLN 280m within two years

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) Kompania Piwowarska (KP), a Polish brewery owned by SABMiller group, is executing its investment plan aimed to modernize Browar Dojlidy, its youngest brand. In the brewery in Bialystok, eastern Poland , a new plant with production line has been launched.

We are getting ready to build a new brewery and magazines. Investments should be made till March 2006, Pawel Kwiatkowski, KP spokesman said.

The brewery will increase capacity to 2-3m hl annually.

It will be nearly three times more than in 2003, when we acquired Browa Dojlidy, Pawel Kwiatkowski said.

In December, a similar production line will be launched also in KP's brewery in Poznan. The management have stopped investments in Tychy, southern Poland .

The brewery in Tychy will be considerably enlarged, but next year. We are planning to install a new can production line and to develop magazines.

Soon, decision will be made concerning a new brewery, Pawel Kwiatkowski said.

The joint amount of those projects amounts to PLN 280m (EUR 70.3m). PLN 100m will be spent in Bialystok project. SABMiller's Polish units generated PLN 11m hl of sales last year.

The strong sales growth of KP in Poland exceeded the average of the sector amounting to 5 percent, Graham Mackay, SABMiller CEO stressed.
